A Quiet Revolution in Travel
There’s something quietly radical happening in travel right now, and I’ve become a part of it.
It’s not splashed across glossy brochures or influencer feeds. It’s the simple, powerful image of a woman—often in her 60s or 70s—rolling her suitcase across an unfamiliar cobblestone street. Alone. Not lost. Not lonely. Just choosing this moment, this destination, this version of herself.
My Journey Into Solo Travel
I’m one of them.
Like many of you, I came to solo travel not in my twenties—but later. After decades spent as someone’s daughter, wife, professional, or caregiver. I didn’t set out to make a statement. I just wanted space to breathe. That space led me to CONMIGO—a company I created to make travel easier, safer, and more comfortable for women like us.
The Numbers Don’t Lie
And we’re not alone.
84% of solo travelers are women
72% of women in the U.S. have already taken a solo trip
86% say they aren’t afraid to do it again
And 59% plan to travel solo within the next year
Why? Because we’re done waiting.
Freedom Is the Destination
Solo travel isn’t about running away. It’s about moving toward something—freedom, curiosity, a bit of peace, or maybe just time to sit in a plaza and watch the world blink.
These days, we’re dreaming bigger: Japan. Iceland. Morocco. Greece. Not just “nice trips,” but soul-stretching experiences that remind us we’re still evolving.
Comfort and Safety Matter—So I Designed the Bag We Need
And yes, safety matters. It always will. That’s why I designed the ULTI Every Day/Every Where Bag—an anti-theft, crossbody bag with a built-in travel cushion to protect your back, bum, and legs and a TSA-compliant electronics sleeve. It’s thoughtfully made and ergonomically designed, with input from medical professionals.
If you’re a traveler—or if you love someone who is—you can find the bag on Amazon or at CONMIGO bags.
This Isn’t a Trend—It’s a Movement
We’re not following anyone else’s path anymore.
We’re finally following our own.
